Ushuaia Loppet about to kick off the Worldloppet season

Only nine days remain to the Ushuaia Loppet, Argentina, the first 50 km of the brand new Worldloppet season!
The skiers, who have registered already from fifteen different nations, will travel across the Fuegian valleys and forests. It seems like the race will be held on a 25 km long loop starting at the Centro Invernal Tierra Mayor in the downtown of Ushuaia. The loop will be done twice for a total of 50 km in classic technique.

This 25 km are in good conditions after a snowfall last Saturday, and the skiers who arrived early can train on a 14 km long loop. A 25 KM promotional race is held on the same day as the Ushuaia Loppet as a Worldloppet Silver Race. The Club Andino Ushuaia (CAU)  is continuing its preparations for the Ushuaia Loppet in order to guarantee a perfect kick-off of the Worldloppet season 2017/18 as first of the 3 southern hemisphere races. The snowfall this past Saturday improved the conditions and allowed the work of the CAU and provincial tourism authorities (INFUETUR) to add quality to the course. More snow is predicted.

The traditional Marchablanca race, a Worldloppet Silver event, will take place one week later and lead over  21, 10, and 1,5 km distances in free technique.
The registration for the events is remaining open and closes on Wednesday August 9 at 20:00 local time. It is including medical support, timing, bag/clothing drop, aid stations on course, transportation, post-race pasta, and prizes.
