Vasaloppet weekend is ready to start
Snow conditions will guarantee the end of the Vasa-week for the many skier from all over the world

Vasaloppet – The weather condition in the past weeks and the cancelations of other races in the countries nearby had worried the thousands of skiers that were getting ready to approach the queen of the xc-ski marathons in Sweden, but weather seems to have played along well in the past days and so have the efforts of the Vasaloppet workers that were able to set up a good track:
We have had a tough situation with the weather in the last weeks but now it seems to be good for the rest of the week. We have worked very hard to get snow in the arena and to get good conditions overall. The race on Sunday will have very good conditions even if right now we still don’t know how the weather will look like on Sunday, there might be some snow, but at least it will be still minus degrees

Having a look at some statistics from partiticpants (they could still change as registrations to some of the events are still open), what pops up is that besides the very consistend Swedish participation, 11% percent of participants represent countries other than Sweden.
69 different nations (including Sweden) have registered participants, where the most numerous are:
Norway – 2008 registered participants
Denmark – 1023
Finland – 707
Germany – 563
Czech Republic – 330
