Vlog: Travelling and skiing with kids and family

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Follow me to my next skiing trip. This time to the Tartu Maraton 2023 in Estonia and a week later, to the Finlandia Hiihto. The special thing about this journey is, that this time, my family is joining me. Is travelling and skiing with kids working? ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง

๐Ÿ‘ง 2,5 year old daughter is skiing for the first time and participating in her first international “skimarathon”, the Tartu Maraton kids race ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://tartumaraton.ee/en/tartu-mara…

โ„๏ธ Later I am skiing the Tartu Maraton on my own and I had such a great time out there, when just right for the start a snow storm hit the region.

๐ŸงŠ For recovery, on the next morning, locals took me to an ice bath in the nearby river.

โ—๏ธAt the end of the video you will find our first learnings from skiing around the world together with family.

What’s the right clothing for my kid?

  • Get gloves that are long enough. At least they should reach half of the arm of the kid. Otherwise it slips out of the ski suit all the time.
  • Get boots for the kid without plastic parts. Plastic is cold. Other waterproof fabric and a warm inside lining is mandatory: Cold feet, means cold kid.
  • As neck warmer you can use the normal adults’ buffs you have anyway. Works for your kid too.
  • Use a onesie ski suit, not two parts. It stores the body head better.
  • Get merino wool underwear. It’s magic.
  • And don’t forget sunglasses. Specially in combination with snow, sun becomes very aggressive and you want to protect your kid’s eyes.
