Worldloppet Master Number 1 passes away age 89
The whole Worldloppet Family is deeply sorry to hear the news from the American Birkebeiner: Carol Ann Duffy of Hayward, Wisconsin – home of the Birkie – has passed away on July 21st. She was the first Worldloppet Master, earning Diploma Number 1 in 1980. Back in time she achieved this lifetime goal together with her husband Tom, who has the Diploma with the number 3.
Carol was a huge inspiration for many skiers, always a welcome guest at every Worldloppet race and an important corner stone for the American Birkebeiner, her home race.
