COVID certificates make sports events possible

The COVID certificates implemented earlier this summer in Estonia have started to re-open the world and give the possibility to organize the popular sports events again. Of course, there is still a lot of insecurity in connection with the year 2022. However, the developments today also give an idea of what can be expected in connection with the Tartu Maraton in February.

On the basis of the current rules, the COVID certificates allow to hold the autumn events of Tartu Maraton according to the traditional plan and format: inline skating race in August, MTB race in September and city run in October.

The biggest change for participants is, that everyone at the age of 18 and older have to present the COVID certificate. This means that only people, who have been vaccinated, recovered from COVID-19, or present a negative test result can take part. More info about certificates and testing is available HERE.

For everyone who cannot participate in the main marathon day, or feel that it is not safe enough in today’s situation, remains the virtual marathon option. Three disciplines await to hit the track wherever you are!

For those who have not made Tartu Maraton events earlier this season, all the autumn marathons also count as one stage of the Virtual Racing League:

  • Inline skating marathon on August 22nd, virtual race August 13th-29th. Info and registration HERE.
  • MTB marathon on September 19th, virtual race September 10th-26th. Info and registration HERE.
  • Tartu City Marathon on October 2nd, virtual run September 24th-October 10th. Info and registration HERE.
