Yes, yes… It is not the same. But it still is the Ushuaialoppet, the southernmost cross-country ski race in the world. Unfortunately the Covid-situation in Argentina is still not allowing any sports events like the Worldloppet member race Ushuaialoppet in Tierra del Fuego. The OC was forced to cancel the race for the second time in a row now.

As a replacement, the organizers were coming up with a virtual solution: The Ushuaialoppet 2021 Virtual Edition. Between August 14th and 30th the fans of the traditional ski marathon can participate in the virtual edition, either on skies, rollerskies, running boots or the bicycle. The distances of either 5km, 10km, 21km or 42km can be done from all around the globe.

The registration for the Ushuaialoppet 2021 Virtual Edition already has opened and costs apx 8,50€.

Virtual Racing League going into second season

The Ushuaialoppet Virtual Edition 2021 is part of the Virtual Racing League. The gathering of all virtual events organized by Worldloppet member races is going in to a second season of virtual competition action. Many Worldloppet organizers have already announced to offer this virtual format also in 2021/22 for all who are not able to travel to the real on-snow-events. Skiers who join at least 7 of these virtual events will be crowned as Virtual Racers. Check out the league and start skiing around the world… virtually!
